Dealing with Osteoarthritis Pain the Right Way

Dealing with Osteoarthritis Pain the Right Way
December 24, 2021

Over time, cartilage on the ends of your bones wears away, leading to osteoarthritis, a joint disease. This cartilage is a tough, slick substance allowing nearly friction-free joint movement. Osteoarthritis patients, on the other hand, have a bumpy and uneven surface to their cartilage. With no cartilage remaining, bone-on-bone friction is the inevitable outcome.

The joints in the hands, knees, hips, and spine are the most commonly affected by this disease. Indeed, many people with Osteoarthritis report chronic and extreme pain and stiffness in their knees, hips, and lower back. They commonly experience joint tenderness, inflammation, stiffness, or cracking and need prolonged osteoarthritis treatment. Osteoarthritis usually begins in the knees and progresses to the hips, fingers, and toes, causing joint deformity and bone growth. Osteoarthritis symptoms are at their worst in the winter or when patients engage in physical activity.

What’s the Role of Chiropractors?

Osteoarthritis pain in the knees and hips can be alleviated by chiropractic care. Osteoarthritis will only get worse because there is currently no cure for it. Osteoarthritis is a debilitating condition, but treatments are available to ease the pain.

Osteoarthritis patients can rely on the expertise of Osteoarthritis treatment in Oklahoma City. Gentle chiropractic deceptions and adjustments can alleviate pain in the knee, groyne, and thigh area by recommending stretching techniques and massages of specific points on the body, as well as ultrasound healing techniques.

  • Pain Alleviation and Relief- A variety of techniques are employed by chiropractors in order to realign the spine. An adjustment in the spine can send signals to the brain to regulate chemical production, resulting in less pain being felt by the body.

  • Muscle Tension Release– As a result, it helps to alleviate muscle tension. Muscles generally hold pressure when the spine is out of alignment, resulting in inflammation. Arthritis doctors help to alleviate muscle tension by realigning the spine and reducing pressure on the nervous system.

  • Improves Mobility-The range of motion of the spinal column, hips, and shoulders can be increased with proper spinal alignment. As the adjacent joints loosen up as a result of the increased range of motion, the body as a whole experiences less stiffness.
