Since the inception of COVID-19, many companies have asked employees to do regular tasks from home. But do you know that it can have a negative effect on your body? Yes, you hear it right. You are spending the working hours on a coffee table or sunken on a couch. This can lead you to experience back pain and posture problems. How to overcome these issues?

We will debunk some of the tips that will help you to learn about pain management and, at the same time, combat the stress and strain. Continue reading this article to hatch up your next move.

Leave your sofa

During working at home, you might find the couch the cozier place. It will not provide you with the exact support that you need. Instead, find a different place to work.

Build the workstation

Implementing proper ergonomics will help you with pain management. It will protect you from strains, fatigue, and injury.

  • Sit on a desk.

  • Keep your forearms parallel to the floor.

  • Use chairs that have back support. You can add cushions to adjust the heights. A towel can be used for lumbar support.

  • Computer screens must be at eye level. If you are working on a laptop, then elevate it with a stand or books.

Change the sitting position.

To keep you pain-free, movement is the key. After setting the workstation, feel free to move around over time. Spend 10 minutes walking or talking with your friend. To read something in the laptop, move to a comfortable chair.

Take break

Unknowingly, you have taken mini-breaks in the office. On the other hand, you are alone in the home. You need to take breaks to relax the mind and the body.

Manage stress

Doing a constant job may be stressful for you. On top of that, it can increase the chances of aches, pains, and injuries. Find what can minimize the stress. Take a day break, exercise, listen to music, or read a book. Find whatever suits you the best.
